Election Day
I just came from the polls. It is 11:15 AM. The number of voters who were there was precisely three. This sounds like a poor turnout, but contrast that with the usual attendance at this time of day, which is me. And the count of people who were there did not include yours truly. Remember that the population of Polk City is 1205 according to the latest census.
Mo went to the polls on her way to work at about 7 o'clock when they open, and she sent pictures showing quite a few people in line. I don't know how to post them from my phone, so I do not include them in today's commentary. Based on the voter turnout in Polk City, though, the number of votes cast today will probably be a record.
Thank Donald Trump.
Watching the news last night, there was not much comment on the likelihood of a high voter turnout, and what that would mean to the balance of the vote. I do not think that Hillary Clinton voters are very enthusiastic, and they are not determined to make their choice known.

Trump voters on the other hand are very enthusiastic, witness the turnout at the Trump rally that Mo and I went to, where there were so many attendees that many did not get into the audience.
We shall see what we shall see, to make a Zen -like comment, and therefore appear to be wise.

Update Sunday evening:
James Comey has entered the fray once more, saying that the FBI is not changing its ruling on the Hillary Clinton mess.
My suspicion is that the powers that be (Obama) directed him (Comey) to divert attention away from Hillary. That's what this whole thing has been about.
Comey is guilty of complicity in this artful dodge, but he will never pay a price. He has complied with the wishes of his bosses.
There is turmoil in the election process.

Surprise, Surprise.
Obama and Hillary have both accused Donald Trump of something to do with the Ku Klux Klan. This was eminently predictable.
The situation is that the Ku Klux Klan, with its 'newspaper,' has endorsed Donald Trump. And the Dems are making as much of a to do over it as is possible.  I think that most people, even most news organizations, are not going to honor this stupidity with even a comment. Hillary is running out of topics and is beginning to bash Trump with really old, really tired complaints.
Right now, the Trump campaign is lagging Hillary by a very small margin. No one knows where it's going, but my (frequently wrong – I too often use hope instead of rationality in these things) opinion is that Trump is surging, and will win the election hands-down.
Tuesday cannot come soon enough. This whole election thing is getting old.
A side note: I had Brit Hume listed as one of the contrarian Republicans in the last column, and I changed it to list George Will and the Bush family. Brit Hume did nothing to place himself in that category.
